CANADA’S HOLIDAY GIVE GUIDE 2020 + GIVEAWAY | GIFTS THAT GIVE BACK

It’s an understatement to say 2020 has been a challenging year. So many have lost so very much and our hearts go out to each one of you. This year really highlighted the importance of aligning with projects that reflect our core values and ensuring we build those into the work we put out and the partnerships we take on. Well, we are pretty proud Canadians, who believe in living with a spirit of generosity and kindness and keeping our family values central to all we do. And, so, for the FOURTH year now (welp!), we’ve put together a little labour of love I’m proud to share with you all – our Holiday GIVE Guide (4^th Edition). Our guide is comprised of socially-conscious Canadian businesses who build good will into their business models – partners with heart who inspire us to do better. It’s been an exceptionally challenging 8 months for all, and this project has even deeper meaning for us this year. Of all years, this is the one for values-driven companies with heart to shine! Many shops who were part of last year’s edition have remained a part of this special collaboration and there are also some fabulous new additions!

World Vision Canada Giving Season | Instillng a spirit of generosity

On the heels of the biggest shopping week of the year, where feeds will flood with door-crasher deals + gift guides (which, no doubt we love and certainly some of those delights will make their way under our tree), we love sharing more than just top trends and must-haves, but some fantastic gift ideas for the whole family you may not have thought of, that not only support Canadian shops but have a portion of proceeds going to support important causes and initiatives that make a positive impact on the lives of others. Gifts that, essentially, make the holidays count for more. Purposeful gifting not only uplifts the receiver but has a ripple effect of touching lives through the causes they support captures the true spirit of the season.

So, here it is, our 2020 Holiday GIVE Guide of products proudly made in or founded in Canada that give back by values-driven entities , including the stories behind the companies that sell them.

TOQUES FROM THE HEART

Toques From The Heart is a Canadian small business started by three McMaster University Business students who wanted to use their knowledge to create a positive change in their communities. They sell unique hockey sock style toques that when purchased allow them to donate toque made out of repurposed hockey socks. Their goal is to get a toque to every Canadian experiencing homelessness and they cannot wait to get as many toques given away as possible to ensure that more people can stay warm this winter by having a toque from the heart of their own.
